Ingredients for Pimento Cheese

Pimento cheese is a blend of cheese, spices, pimento (red pepper) and mayo. Many recipes do add a variety of ingredients and the variations can be limitless. Bottom line, it’s creamy and flavorful and yes, I am addicted to it!

People use them as spreads, dips and on top of sandwiches. I particularly like it in my sandwich or on top a burger. The key to making this right though is using Hellman’s mayo and letting it setup in the fridge for a couple of hours once you have mixed all the ingredients. There is no better mayo than Hellman’s and the flavor you get from it just elevates your pimento cheese to the next level. Also letting the cheese sit in the fridge after it has been mixed lets all the ingredients and flavors come together. The time in the fridge also stiffens up the mixture in which gives the cheese some nice body.

My following homemade pimento cheese recipe is a basic one that does the job and more when it comes to your cheese addiction. It’s really easy to make, so do it, try it and then come up with your own variation. I know this is just the beginning for me, in exploring different recipes and coming up with new ones for pimento cheese, so don’t stray too far from this site or you might miss out on my next killer pimento cheese recipe.
